HOW TO COOK PIEROGIES!
Bring a pot of water to a medium boil. High or fast rapid boil will tear open the dough.
Drop in desired amount of frozen Pierogies. Suggestion, small pot, 3 at a time, large soup pot, 6 to 8 at a time.
Cook till Pierogies float to the top, about a minute.
Gently remove from water with slotted spoon.
At this point I suggest two things:
1). Melt butter and set aside in bowl. After you remove Pierogies from water, drain and put in bowl with the melted butter and serve.
2). In a fry pan, Sautée onions in butter. Onions can be diced small or onions can be cut into small wedges. Once onions are cooked till translucent, transfer to a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to fry pan. Add a few Pierogies at a time to the pan. Brown to desired crispness on both sides, about 30 seconds each side. Remove from fry pan and toss with the onions.
Serve with sour cream applesauce or favorite dipping sauce.
